We remembered!

Yah Troops,

Last Thursday proved to be a fine outing in the night with bikes and lights. 3 lap minimum easily obtained and much more dirt than any of us anticipated. Good times!

The plot has thickened! This Thursday is looking like a go but if you are not down with the flow dandruff(snow) and or trooper ville than best to stay home and reflect back on past epic evenings of shred. Snow is evident but temps are cool enough for us to not have to worry about causing any trail damage as a result of melt. If you want to harness skills for riding in loose conditions, then make the snow a go.

Speaking of the trails.... damn they are running great right now! At least last wknd anyways. A big thanks to the MMBTS trail crew for all their hard work and for all the newness on the mountain.

An email heads up as always is appreciated.

Cheers,

Reg

Thinking of meeting @ 6:30 in the city and 7:30 out at Station Flats.

Remember the night rider!

Anyone down for laps in the night this coming Thursday? I will get some scouting reports on conditions and let you know if it's a go. Email me if you are interested.

The fallalicious of 2008 is a hard act to follow but lets make efforts for a push to keep the tires spinning for 2009. The weather as of late.... well, it's only a "flesh wound". Were not dead yet!

Thinking 6:30 Station Flats scenario.

Let me know if your still kickin?

Bring on the Melt

Hey Troops,

I haven't heard any fat Lady's singing just yet. Yes, conditions have changed and snow has tabulated, about 8 inches at the top of T-dub on Sunday. Face shots galore!

Here is hoping that the next week results in a sufficient melt tweak, and enables the Coalition to keep doing what we do best. Lets put things on hold for this week and re-evaluate for next Thursday the 15th. Ill be getting my turkey on in Whistler for closing wknd and will not be back for Next Tuesday. Sorry to bring that up. Road trip anyone?

It's full on night riding season, so ensure you are prepped in the lights dept if your stubborn enough to keep your tires rollin. See you soon!

Cheers,

Reg

Stuck in the city until Thursday evening

Sorry Troops,

But tonight's ride needs to be rescheduled. The van dropped it's exhaust again and requires a proper fixing previous to use by the Coalition. I don't know about you lads but I am really eager to get some laps in, so am making all the required steps to make Thursday a go. If you are in, please let me know. Unless you hear otherwise, prep up for Thursday evening laps a plenty.

We had an amazing wknd out at Moose with MMBTS. Both the trail day and T-dub race were a huge success. Trails are encroaching mintamillion status. Go get em!

Cheers,

R.

Sweet Epic Fall

Yo Coalition,

Last weeks 3 laps of primo riding out At Moose was superb.

I am trying to make it a go for tonight but the Pil van is currently in the shop and I will not know if it will be ready until after lunch. Hopefully we will be able to rock! I was thinking it would be a great night to get some training laps in on the good ole T-dub line for this wknd's 2knee race. Check it out at http://moosemountain.pinkbike.com/blog/falltraildayandrace.html. If things are not a go, Ill let you know by the blog here previous to 1:30. IF you are in, an email heads up would be appreciated.

This Tuesday is on for 5:30 Station Flats 5 at Cougar ridge. An email heads up is greatly appreciated.

The weather is looking supreme for this wknd! So, no excuses people get out there and get your pin on! Make the time you deserve it.

Wednesday ride anyone???

Yo Coalition,

Just a quick heads up for this weeks ride. I am thinking Wednesday to give everyone a recovery day after the long wknd. I need email confirmation to ensure there are enough takers. 5 Cougar Ridge - 5:30 Station Flats.

Last week was quite the adventure! The Coalition came together to assist a fallen comrade. A wee bit of a late night, but good to see such strong character in these type of situations. Especially from the individual at the brunt of the incident. Way to keep positive, focused and composed! I have no doubt you are probably within reach of a giant glass of milk right now and are making all the right steps to get back on the bike. Healing vibes coming at ya in full force.

Cheers,

Reg

Lets get back at it!

Yo Troops,

Well, the Coalition Hiatus has passed and I am back and eager... thinking a strong finish to the year of the shred is in order. I am just returning today from 1 amazing holiday.... 20 days of bikes, great people, superb landscapes and lots of living full. We are fortunate!

Hopefully, you all got together a couple of times in the last couple of weeks and sampled some 2 wheeled bliss. I am on for this week but could use tomorrow to decompress and get organized. So somehow make this Wednesday work. 5 at Cougar ridge or 5:30 at Station Flats. Have lights bring lights situation.

Fall offers some of the best riding of the year so grab your hoodies and lets roll.

As always an email heads up is mucho appreciated.

Cheers,

Reg

Bring it!

Trail Soup!

Yo Coalition,

It looks like the trail chowder at Moose this evening is a little too watered down for a proper taste. But the menu is predicted to be in fine form for this Thursday. 5 course minimum anyone? Who is hungry?

5 at Cougar ridge... 6 at Station flats. An email heads up is appreciated.

Hope you all had a super wknd and it's blue Skies and big smiles for future Tuesdays(knock Knock).

Cheers,

Reg

The Coalition groove!

Yo troops,

That was one fine night of shred on Tuesday. For a simple freeride club we are really representing out on the trails. One of our largest groups yet but the cohesion, camaRADerie, level of stoke, focus and desire for vert is catapulting us to some very fun and exciting school nights out in the hills.

Rockin it. Many thanks to Sandy for the foto's!(all that got forwarded are included) Next week is on but a half hour earlier! 5 @ Cougar ridge 6 At station Flats. Van will be heading up the mountain very close to 6.

I was planning on mixing the venue up a little, but after sensing last weeks stoke, I think Moose should be re-visited yet again. We will entertain a hike a bike and Canmore for a Tuesdayrip soon!
Yeh Summer! 4 days of riding are in my immediate future... hopefully many of you reading this have similar plans.

Go get em!

Up the Creek with a Pedal

The Coalition and Canyon Creek were out in full force last Thursday.

It flowed! Both the creek and the sredders of the Coalition.

Luckily, the trails didn't take too much of a beating from the relentless downpours from the weekend previous. Steeper sections took the brunt of the water damage and most of the water had been dispersed away from our trail network by Thursday. The odd new spring in spots, but mostly conditions were Good to go. Nothing a quick impromptu trail day couldn't buff and fix in an evening.

A big thanks to "No # in the hat Vincent" for being the photographer for the evening. The Coalition easily managed 4 laps even with the creek fording. New bikes, new riders, our biggest group yet and still one epic, fun and dandy evening.

We are the Coalition and tonight we ride!

5:30 Cougar ridge - 6:30 Station Flats!

Cheers,

Reg

Ride night postponed to Thursday!

Shredders of the Coalition,

After careful consideration of conditions out in the hills, I had to call it for this evening. It looks like the gush factor is a little high for all the trails at Moose, and that our fat tires would undoubtedly bring excessive and unwanted trail damage.

Look what happened to the last person that attempted to ride trails that were way to wet and soggy.

A little patience and rescheduling is in order.

Thursday looks to be the best fit for the trails. Hopefully, you can all make this work. So, 5:30 Cougar Ridge or 6:30 Station Flats for this Thursday the 16th. An email heads up is appreciated.

Last week was incredible! 5 laps easily obtained, a stoked crew all Hulked up on Redbull(thanks Sandy!), and the troop is really starting to represent in the flow department. The System is by no means broken!

Thursday we roll!

Go Ride!!!

Yo Coalition,

This week for ride night # 4 the numbers were down a little with the Canada day holiday luring many into vacation land. The seasoned fab five that saddled up easily obtained a 5 lapper out of the mountain. Conditions were fast and tacky. Trails that had a bit a gush in some sections are now opening up the door and welcoming riders to tap into that speed. Tap Tap Braaaap BRaaap!

It is so summer... I can't get enough. Long evenings, warm days, dry trails, roadtrips, campfires, post ride beers, amazing mountains, great friends and lots of ops for 2 wheeled bliss! So go get em! Our summers are short... embrace the mayhem and give'r at every available chance.

This coming Tuesday is a go. 5:30 COugar Ridge or 6:30 Station Flats.

Go ride!

Reg

Last week we easily obtained a 4 lap minimum. A couple of eager individuals squeezed in 5 with a final true Duskrun.

Trails on the hit list included, T-dub, JG on the rocks, SLF, and ROS.

Lets ride,

R.

Calling the Freeride Coalition! 2009 - "The Year of the Shred"

Hello Coalitionites!

Many apologies for the stagnant blog and the slow start on the 2009 blog season. I have had some issues regaining blog access( my bad) but we will anti up and live up to our title prediction here. 2009, "the year of the shred"!

Last week was our inaugural Coalition night and I gotta say we are yet again setting ourselves up for one super season. A great group dynamic and plenty of shred for our first night @ Moose. 4 laps, a little grease, lots of meet and greets, a spill or 2 but plenty of pointing bikes downhill. Due to potential soggy conditions on the East side of the mountain the Coalition slurped up the gravity gravy of the West side of Moose.

Tonight it's game on! 5:30 @ Cougar Ridge or 6:30 at Station Flats. If you could please send me an email @ regmullett@hotmail.com for confirmation that would be appreciated.

Last season really had a great impact and formed some great friendships. The Coalition rides were certainly one of the highlights of my season. Glad to see so many repeat offenders and I am stoked to be a part of it all again for 2009.

Cheers,

Reg
